Ras Al Khaimah Customs undertook a distinctive collaboration with the Applied Technology Schools to deliver an innovative technology project: the programming of a customs-dedicated robot that highlights customs procedures and the electronic services offered to customers.
The project aims to deploy the system across a number of key locations, including the Customer Happiness Center, Ras Al Khaimah Airport, and Saqr Port, helping to improve the customer experience and enhance the efficiency of customs operations through modern digital tools.
The project focuses on supporting customs security sustainability by developing services and introducing advanced technology across various operations, in a way that improves the speed of completion and the accuracy of procedures, and keeps pace with the nation’s digital transformation directions.
The collaboration also embodies a successful model of partnership between the government and education sectors, giving students the opportunity to apply their technical skills in a real-world project that serves the community and strengthens their readiness for the job market.
As part of future development, there are plans to expand the use of this robot to include training programs directed at new employees and customers, helping to raise awareness of customs procedures and enhance the efficient use of electronic services.
It is worth noting that the idea and proposal for the project came as a result of the personal effort of Ras Al Khaimah Customs employees, who worked to develop it and turn it into a tangible reality so that it could be applied within the customs work system — reflecting the spirit of innovation and institutional excellence within the Department.
