About Ras Al Khaimah Customs

RAS AL KHAIMAH CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT

Ras Al Khaimah Customs Department is one of the earliest governmental organizations in Ras Al Khaimah since it was established in 1930. The Department has shouldered since then, the application of the UAE relevant laws and regulations concerning customs work and customs policies agreed amongst the GCC countries. Ras Al Khaimah Customs also organizes trade exchange, eliminates any trade barriers constraining the flow of goods, combats trading fraud and money laundering and limits the leakage of drugs, counterfeit commodities and fake currencies. Additionally, the Department is concerned with controlling the entry of restricted items and seizing of prohibited materials. Services of Ras Al Khaimah Customs Department are delivered across the twelve customs centers spread over the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah at its sea, air, land borders and free zones.

Duties of Ras Al Khaimah Customs:
1. To protect society by enforcing import and export prohibitions and restrictions and correctly apply controls and official resolutions.
2. To contribute in safeguarding and developing Ras Al Khaimah, the United Arab Emirates and our neighboring Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) States and promote international trade by maintaining an appropriate balance between trade facilitation and effective enforcement.
3. To collect and manage customs duties, fees and service charges.
4. To compile and supply trade statistics in the most beneficial, effective and efficient way possible.
